Parents
Parent counselling provides a space for mothers, fathers and couples to reflect upon their parenting style, gain a better understanding of their child, and develop the confidence and skills to implement appropriate and effective parenting strategies.
Depending on the circumstances, parents may attend sessions alone, with a partner, or alongside their child.
Parents can also participate in group sessions with the "Signposts for Building Better Behaviour"training program. This is an evidence-based education program that provides parents with tools, resources and take-home exercises to promote positive behaviour and new skills in their child. It caters to parents of typically developing children, as well as children with mild-to-moderate developmental disabilities.
