ABOUT
My name is Jessica and I am a registered psychologist accredited by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). I have gained my clinical experience working with children, adolescents and adults across educational, community, and private settings in South Africa and Australia.

I hope to foster a warm, patient and compassionate space to enable my clients to explore and make sense of their thoughts and feelings. I am passionate about empowering individuals of all ages to find their inner strength and resilience, set healthy boundaries, overcome fears, improve their outlook and mood, and establish rewarding relationships.
I completed my Master of Psychology at Monash University, where I achieved the highest result in my course and faculty. I subsequently attained a professional endorsement in Educational & Developmental Psychology after two additional years of supervised training. During this time, I provided individual therapy, conducted workshops on child and adolescent development, and collaborated with parents, schools and health professionals.
Over the years, I have developed my interests in working with adults, couples and parents through completing specialist training in couples and relationship therapy with Relationships Australia Victoria, and parenting and attachment-based training with Circle of Security® Parenting™ International. I have also worked in a perinatal clinic, providing support to mothers and families surrounding conception, pregnancy, and early parenthood and have studied the Newborn Behavioural Observation (NBO) system at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne.

My approach to therapy is eclectic, as I draw from a number of theoretical perspectives and conceptual frameworks. I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy and Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), and incorporate developmental, neuroscientific, attachment and psychodynamic principles. I also provide psychoeducation and offer practical strategies when needed. This might involve role-playing in sessions, practicing mindfulness meditation, discussing various coping skills, setting goals, or establishing tasks or behavioural experiments to complete at home.

I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you on this journey!
