CHILDREN
Counselling can be beneficial for children who are experiencing behavioural, emotional, or learning challenges that cause distress or disrupt aspects of daily life. Although each child is different, your child may require additional support if they display one or more of the signs below:
-
Avoidance of activities or situations
-
School refusal
-
Frequent head or stomach pains
-
Changes in sleep or diet
-
Angry outbursts
-
Frequent crying or tearfulness
-
Excessive fears or worries
-
Relationship problems

How I Work
I bring compassion, patience, fun and warmth to my work and sensitively tailor sessions to the emotional and developmental needs of each child. I use evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness, to help my young clients learn new coping skills and develop greater self-awareness and confidence. I also utilise play-based, art, relaxation and solution-focused strategies when appropriate.
Parents are an integral part of the therapeutic process, and I value their input and feedback. True growth is most likely to be achieved when families work together. I frequently consult with teachers, doctors, and allied health professionals to ensure that your child receives holistic care and support.
